A popular boat for Wellcraft, the 3200 Coastal is a sturdy, well-designed express fisherman with a big cockpit and comfortable interior accommodations. She was built on a solid fiberglass hull form with moderate beam, wide walkaround side decks, and a modest 14 degrees of transom deadrise. Below, the Coastal’s teak-paneled cabin will sleep four and includes a full galley, convertible dinette, and a standup head with shower. A sliding door separates the stateroom from the main cabin, and there’s plenty of storage under the berths and dinette seats. The Coastal’s bi-level cockpit includes a wide transom door (that unfortunately opens into the cockpit rather than out), a small livewell, and rod storage beneath the gunwales. Additional features include a bow pulpit, good engine access, opening windshield vents, and a swim platform. An optional 60-gallon fuel tank brings the cruising range up to about 300 miles. Twin 350hp gas engines cruise the 3200 Coastal at 20–22 knots with a top speed of around 30 knots. Note that the Wellcraft 3200 Sport Bridge (1985–86) is essentially the same boat with a flybridge and enclosed salon.
