The Viking 63 Motor Yacht began life as the Gulfstar 63 Motor Yacht, herself an enlarged version of the original 55 Motor Yacht Gulfstar introduced in 1987. She was offered in three configurations: A Walkaround with full side decks and a small aft deck; a Widebody with full-width main salon, small aft deck, and no side decks; and an Extended Aft Deck model with walkaround decks, a smaller salon, and an enlarged afterdeck. While her four-stateroom layout is similar to the original 55 motoryacht floorplan, the additional length of the 63 is used to extend the main salon and to create a bigger master stateroom. The high-style decor is a blend of traditional teak woodwork, luxurious furnishings, and rich designer fabrics. A utility room contains a workbench as well as access to the spacious, standup engine room. Topside, the flybridge is fitted with enough wraparound lounge seating for a small crowd. Standard 735hp GM 8V92 diesels deliver a cruising speed of 17–18 knots (about 20 knots top), and 900hp GM 12V71s cruise at 20–21 knots. Note that the Viking 70 Cockpit MY is a 63 Motor Yacht with a cockpit extension.
