Built on the same low-deadrise hull used in the production of Trojan’s successful 12 Meter Convertible, the 12 Meter Motor Yacht was considered a very high-style yacht in the late 1980s. Even by today’s standards, the 12 Meter is a good-looking boat with slightly rakish lines and a well-balanced profile. Below deck, the expansive interior seems larger than one expects to find in a 40-foot boat. An aft-facing dinette is forward in the salon, but it’s what’s underneath that dinette that’s of interest: a huge storage area with a washer and dryer—a rare luxury in a 40-foot yacht. The galley, which is exceptionally large with lots of counter space, is opposite the washer/dryer, and walkaround double berths are located in both staterooms. A hidden entertainment center rises from a counter in the salon at the touch of a button, and distinctive European galley fixtures add to the impression of luxury. Additional features include a roomy aft deck with rigid weatherboards and a hardtop, wide side decks, and a radar arch. Optional 375hp Cat diesels provide a cruising speed of 19–20 knots, and 450hp 6-71s cruise at 22–23 knots.
