For those who are serious about cruising and who value seaworthiness over the glitz and glamour of most of todays Euro-style designs, the Tollycraft 43 Motor Yacht should receive strong consideration. Built on a rugged semi-displacement, solid fiberglass hull and bearing a distinct trawler-style profile, the Tollycraft 43 is widely regarded as a superior heavy-weather boat. A sharp entry and a full-length keel provide good handling characteristics, while her flat aftersections allow the 43 to cruise efficiently at 15 knots with the small 210hp Cat diesels. The accommodations are well organized with double berths in each stateroom and a serving bar separating the salon from the lower-level galley. An inside helm and deck access door were standard, and the interior is finished with well-crafted teak cabinets and paneling throughout. The full walkaround decks of the 48 Motor Yacht are a plus, and her versatile (but small) cockpit includes an in-floor storage locker and transom door. Note that a radar arch, swim platform, and bow pulpit were standard, and the aft deck is large enough for a dinghy. A popular boat, used models are nearly always in demand.
