A good-selling model for Tiara during her decade-long production run, the 3100 Convertible (called the 3100 Continental in 1982–86) is a flybridge version of the company’s hugely popular 3100 Open. With her enclosed salon and standard lower helm, the Convertible is more cruising boat than hardcore fisherman. (Indeed, most anglers will find her cockpit far too small for serious fishing activities.) A convertible sofa in the salon sleeps two, and the lower level consists of a U-shaped dinette, a small galley, and a private stateroom forward. Overall, the interior is an attractive blend of quality fabrics, teak trim and off-white mica cabinets. As previously stated, the small cockpit of the 3100 Convertible limits her appeal to serious anglers—there’s no transom door or rod storage and no room for a tackle center. Topside, the flybridge is arranged with bench seating forward of the helm console. A bow pulpit and swim platform were standard. Standard 340hp inboard gas engines cruise at 20 knots and reach a top speed of about 30 knots. Note that the Tiara 3100 Flybridge is the same boat with an open lower helm.
