With her conservative styling and quality construction, the Tiara 2900 Open has long appealed to those seeking a dual-purpose express capable of serious fishing as well as comfortable family cruising. She’s built on a modified-V hull with cored hullsides and a wide 11'4"" beam, and anyone who’s spent any time aboard the 2900 Open will attest to her excellent finish and solid construction. The interior is simple and efficient. An angled double berth forward and a convertible dinette will sleep four, and the galley comes with an electric stove, Corian counters and a refrigerator. While the cabin is very comfortable for a 29-footer, it’s the large, unobstructed cockpit that draws the attention of serious anglers. A transom door and coaming bolsters are standard, and the entire bridge deck of the 2900 rises electrically to reveal the engine compartment (although it’s a tight fit getting down). Twin 320hp 5.7L gas inboards cruise the 2900 Open at 20 knots and reach a top speed of 30+ knots. Note that the interior was slightly revised in 1997. A popular boat, resale values have remained consistently strong over the years.
