The Sunseeker Manhattan 62 (called the Manhattan 58 until an extended swim platform was added in 1997) was the largest flybridge motor yacht in the Sunseeker fleet during the late 1990s. She is, as the name implies, a floating penthouse whose lush interior is a symphony of curves, chrome and glass. The Manhattan’s spacious salon is on two levels with the lower level aft providing the main dining and entertaining area, while the upper level contains a second social center grouped around the helmsman’s seat. A transparent spiral staircase abaft the lower helm leads up to the flybridge, and a party of six is accommodated in a dramatic master stateroom forward and two guest staterooms. The sunken galley is huge and equipped for the preparation of comprehensive meals. (Note that a single-berth crew cabin is accessed from the galley.) Sliding glass doors open into the spacious cockpit, and the flybridge—accessible from the cockpit as well as the salon—is uniquely arranged with the helm aft and to starboard, surrounded by a huge U-shaped dinette/lounge with seating for eight. Detroit 760hp (or 800hp MAN) V-drive diesels cruise at 25 knots and reach a top speed of around 30 knots.
