The Stamas 290 Aegean is a big express sportfishing boat with added versatility of a comfortable cabin for fishing trips and family cruising. Stamas is known for building tough boats using pressure-treated wood encapsulated in fiberglass for the stringers, bulkheads and transom. A premium vinylester finish covers the solid fiberglass bottom and the cored hullsides and deck. With the emphasis on fishing, the Aegeans cockpit is spacious and uncluttered with a bait prep center with sink and storage to starboard, two transom livewells (23 and 30 gallons), aft 210-quart fish box, foldaway transom seat, and an aft-facing jump seat to port. The entire cockpit deck raises for easy access to pumps, tanks and batteries, etc. The helm area has plenty of room for a full array of flush-mounted electronics. Below, the 390s well-appointed interior features a roomy cabin with V-berth forward, galley with microwave oven, standup head/shower and midberth aft. The teak and holly cabin sole is a nice touch, and the dinette table converts to an extra berth. Twin Yamaha F350 outboards top out at 45 knots, and triple Yamaha F300swhich most Aegeans are powered withtop out at over44 50 knots.
