Like many modern express boats, the Stamas 340 is part fishing boat and part family cruiser. The interior is roomy and well finished—maybe her biggest selling point—and the cockpit dimensions rival those of many 40-footers. Heavily built on a fiberglass hull with a long keel and prop pockets, the 340 is a solid boat (as are all Stamas boats) and her shallow 28"" draft is notable. Below deck, the midcabin interior sleeps six and features a convertible dinette, full-size galley with microwave, large head compartment, and oversize V-berths forward. Privacy curtains separate the fore and aft sleeping areas from the main cabin, and the interior is nicely finished with teak cabinets, quality fabrics, and a teak-and-holly sole. In the cockpit, the livewell and fish box are located in the transom for easy access. An aft-facing seat with cooler is to port, and a full bait prep center is to starboard. A removable transom seat frees up even more cockpit space. Most of the cockpit sole lifts at the touch of a button to access the engines. On the downside, the bridge deck is very small with only modest passenger seating. Yanmar 370hp diesels cruise in the mid 20s (30 knots top). An outboard version was also available.
