The Silverton 36 Convertible is an entry level family cruiser whose principle attributes — aside from a low price — are sporty styling and a versatile layout. The Silverton’s Spartan interior offers more usable living space than most convertibles her size, and large cabin widows provide panoramic views of the water. The expansive salon is furnished with an Ultraleather sofa and settee, cherry table, and cherry cabinetry. A forward windshield and opening salon windows create a light, airy atmosphere throughout. With the emphasis on salon and galley space, the master stateroom is on the small side and so is the portside guest stateroom with its over/under berths and modest storage. To preserve space, the head is split with the shower stall to starboard and sink/toilet compartment to port. Molded steps in the cockpit ascent to a large flybridge with twin helm seats and U-lounge seating aft. Note the slender side decks. Crusader 375hp V-drive gas engines cruise at 22–24 knots, and Yanmar 315hp diesels cruise at 20–22 knots. Egg Harbor acquired the molds to the 36 Convertible following Silverton’s 2012 bankruptcy but full production was never resumed.
