Introduced in 1999, the Shamrock 290 Walkaround is a handsome deep-V fisherman whose rugged construction and large, well-equipped cockpit will appeal to serious anglers. No lightweight, the 290 offers a solid ride in a chop, and wide side decks make her a true 360-degree fishing platform. Fishing amenities include a 38-gallon livewell, a rigging station with tackle storage behind the passenger seat, a big in-deck insulated fish box with macerator, raw- and freshwater washdowns, coaming bolsters, rod holders, under-gunwale rod storage, and a transom doorall standard. The helm station, located on the centerline, has a tilt-away console and room for flush-mounting an array of electronics. Below, the roomy interior of the Shamrock 290 comes as a real surprise considering her wide side decks. An offset double berth is forward; the settee converts into upper and lower berths; the galley is opposite the settee, and a roomy head compartment with shower is aft. For engine access, the entire bridge deck lifts on hydraulic rams. Twin 300hp inboard gas engines cruise the 290 Walkaround in the low-to-mid 20s and reach a top speed in excess of 30 knots.
