A proven Alaska cruiser, the Selene 48/49 is a heavily built raised pilothouse trawler with a level of design and engineering sophistication consistent with the entire Selene fleet. Hull construction is solid fiberglass below the waterline, and a full-length keel and flat aftersections minimize roll to produce an easy motion at sea. With her Portuguese bridge, reverse-slanted pilothouse windows, and huge full-beam flybridge the Selene 48 projects the image true long range passagemaker. Entering the salon through the cockpit door, an L-shaped settee with hi/lo table is to port with two swivel chairs to starboard. Just forward of the salon on the starboard side is the U-shaped galley with granite counters, upright refrigerator/freezer, and a commissary lazarette below for provisions. Lower level accommodations consist of two large staterooms and two heads with stall showers. Incorporated in the interior plan is a large pilothouse with a watch berth behind the pilot seats. Engine room access is located at the aft end of the accommodations companionway or from the salon. The flybridge has a centerline helm, L-shaped settee, wet bar, and space aft for a tender. A single 330hp Cummins diesel will cruise at 89 knots.
