The Sabreline 42 Sedan (called the Sabre 42 Sedan beginning in 2006) is a blend of traditional Down East styling, quality construction, and spirited performance—attributes that established this popular model as the standard for performance cruising yachts. The vacuum-bagged hull is balsa-cored on the sides and bottom and prop pockets level the engines and reduce draft. With her wide 14'4"" beam, the cockpit is as large as many convertibles her size. The Saberline’s richly appointed interior features a comfortable main salon with an L-shaped settee with dining table to port and side table to starboard. The deck door at the lower helm is a nice touch as is the lovely teak and holly cabin sole. Descending the staircase, the galley is to port and includes Sub Zero refrigeration and a double sink. Opposite, the guest cabin doubles as a lower lounge and the double-door configuration makes the space feel very open when not in use as a private cabin. A double-entry head with stall shower is forward to port, and the master stateroom has a walkaround island berth. An extended hardtop shelters the cockpit. Yanmar 440hp diesels cruise in the low 20s (26–28 knots top).
