Introduced into the U.S. market in 2000, the conservative styling of the Riviera 3000 Offshore lacks the sex appeal of most American and European sportboats. Hidden beneath her plain-Jane exterior, however, is something seldom found in a 30-foot express—standard inboard diesel power. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 11'4"" beam, the most noted downside of the Riviera 3000 is her compact interior. Although nicely finished and including a full galley as well as a convertible dinette and standup head compartment, these are tight accommodations for a 30-footer with virtually no counter space in the galley and very modest storage. The Offshore’s bi-level cockpit, on the other hand, is very spacious. The entire bridge deck rises on hydraulic rams for access to the motors, and the aft cockpit is large enough for two or more anglers and their gear. Standard features include excellent nonskid surfaces, generator, windlass, wide side decks, swim platform, and fiberglass fuel tanks—a real plus in the eyes of many. Volvo 260hp diesels cruise the Riviera 3000 in the mid-to-high 20s (30+ top). Note the small fuel capacity.
