In her day, the Rampage 31 was a good example of the high-tech construction techniques then taking hold throughout the boatbuilding industry. She was constructed on a fully cored hull with a wide beam, a well-flared bow, and a nearly flat, low-deadrise running surface. Below, the cabin is snug but more than adequate for weekend getaways. There are berths for four, an enclosed head, a small but functional galley, and plenty of storage. The dinette converts into a V-berth, and the seat backrests swing up to become bunks—a total of four berths. The 31’s bi-level cockpit is particularly well designed with an extra-wide transom door, lockable rod storage, and a huge 85-gallon circulating livewell in the cockpit sole (where many anglers still prefer their livewells). There’s room in the console for extra electronics, and a unique system of sliding hatches makes engine access about as painless as it gets. Note the wide side decks and sturdy bow rails. Standard 330hp gas engines cruise the Rampage 31 in the mid 20s (30+ knots top). Optional 300hp GM 8.2 diesels cruise at a fast 28 knots with a top speed of just over 30 knots.
