The Pursuit 3100 Express is nearly the same boat as the original Tiara 3100 Open (1979–91), a well-built inboard express with a spacious interior and roomy cockpit. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide 12-foot beam and full transom, the 3100 Express is a versatile boat with a layout well suited for fishing, diving, and cruising. While there’s no midcabin, there are berths for four below (with the dinette converted) along with a full-service galley, generous storage, roomy head/shower, and an attractive teak-and-holly sole. The 3100’s spacious big uncluttered provides an excellent fishing platform with plenty of room for a mounted chair. A bait and tackle center fits behind the helm seat, and a circulating livewell (optional) could be installed in the cockpit sole. Additional features include cockpit bolsters, raw-water washdown, trim tabs, cockpit lights, bow pulpit, and swim platform. Note the tall windshield and wide side decks. A heavily built boat (and not especially fuel efficient), the 3100 Express can be a stiff ride in a chop. Standard 300hp gas inboards cruise at 20–21 knots (high 20s top).

Overview

Polished big-water express—essentially a Tiara 3100 Open (1979–91) with extra fishing features—meets the needs of anglers and cruisers alike.

Features

Single-level cockpit is big enough for a mounted chair. Tackle center fits behind helm seat; livewell was popular option. Roomy cabin with teak-and-holly sole, U-shaped dinette, private stateroom sleeps four. Tall windshield provides superior weather protection.

Comments

Not the softest rough-water ride.

Performance
