With her crisp Europa styling and traditional teak interior, the PT 38 Sedan offers a practical alternative to the more expensive Europa-style models from Grand Banks, Island Gypsy, etc. Sedan trawlers offer very user-friendly interiors with considerably more salon and entertaining space than their aft-cabin counterparts. The PT 38 was built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam, hard aft chines, and a shallow, full-length keel. Stepping inside from the shaded cockpit, the total-teak interior is highlighted by a comfortable salon/galley area with a built-in settee to port and adjustable high-low dining table. The galley is forward, to port, and a full-size refrigerator/freezer is positioned just behind the lower helm seat where its easily reached from the salon. Below, a centerline queen berth is found in the master stateroom, and the guest stateroom is fitted with single over/under berths. The single head compartment features a large tub/shower. The cockpit of the PT 38 is small—just large enough for two deck chairs—but the flybridge is big for a boat this size. Twin 120hp Lehman (or twin 135hp Perkins) diesels cruise at 8–10 knots.
