The V48 was the first boat in the Princess line with IPS pod drive propulsion. Featuring a fully enclosed main deck salon with hydraulic sliding roof, triple sliding doors connect to the aft cockpit and bathing platform large enough to stow a tender. The all-weather helm station can be buttoned down in rough weather or opened up on warm days. The driver's side has an electric opening window for ventilation or backing into a slip. Down six steps from the helm is the portside galley complete with a floor-to-ceiling Waeco fridge/freezer, stainless-steel sink, and three-burner convection oven. Opposite the galley to starboard is the lounge area with U-shaped seating and hi/lo table. The forward cabin also has some thoughtful touches including scissor-action berths and oval-shaped ports which allow for plenty of natural lighting. The additional living space afforded by using IPS drives can be seen in the V48s spacious full-beam master suite with standing headroom, ensuite head, and two big hull windows. Built on a lightweight resin infused hull, Volvo IPS600 435hp diesels cruise the Princess V48 at 2628 knots (low 30s top).
