The President 35 Sedan is a sturdy Taiwan import whose contemporary styling, full teak interior and affordable price offered buyers a good deal of value in a small flybridge boat. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a relatively wide beam, the 35 can serve equally well as a light-tackle fisherman or weekend family cruiser. Buyers could choose either a single- or twin-stateroom interior, both of which came with a roomy head compartment and wraparound salon windows. A lower helm was optional, and hatches in the salon sole provide easy access to the engine room. (Note that the generator is installed beneath the cockpit sole—not the ideal location because of the risk of saltwater corrosion, but certainly quieter than if it were in the engine room.) The President’s cockpit is on the small side for a 35-foot convertible although there’s sufficient room for a couple of anglers and their gear. The side decks are very wide, and visibility from the flybridge helm position is excellent in all directions. A transom door, swim platform, and bow pulpit were standard. Among several engine options, a pair of 225hp Lehman diesels cruise the 35 Sedan at 15 knots and reach a top speed of around 18 knots.
