Described in 2008 by a prominent U.K yachting magazine as a “floating piece of eye candy,” the Pershing 72 combined an innovative exterior design with a luxurious interior and best-in-class performance. Her three-stateroom layout consists of a VIP guest cabin forward, a twin bed cabin to port, and a full-beam owner’s stateroom amidships. A striking feature of the Pershing 72 is the electric, fully retracting aft bulkhead door and window, which at the touch of a button disappears below decks into the bulkhead separating the aft cockpit lounge from the interior saloon. There is also an aft sliding roof that extends in two stages over the cockpit to provide sun or weather protection or retracts fully forward into the roof structure. The cockpit features a double sun bed positioned above an aft garage and a large L-shaped lounge to starboard surrounding a teak table. A barbecue and access to the engine room and crew bunk/head below decks is opposite. At the bow, the anchor locker is so big that it has a molded step to get down inside. A watertight door opens to provide standup access to the twin engines. MTU 1823hp M93 diesels paired with Arneson surface drives cruise at 35 knots (about 45 knots top).
