The Pershing reputation for styling and performance was personified in the Pershing 52, a beautifully crafted sport cruiser and a standard by which other European express yachts of her day was measured. Built on a deep-V hull with a solid fiberglass bottom, the extended swim platform of the 52—which protects the Arneson drives below—is actually part of the hull mold. Belowdecks, the rich interior consists of three private double staterooms, two aft flanking the companionway and one forward. Both heads are fitted with stall showers, and either crew quarters or PWC stowage can be specified in the transom garage area. Like other Pershing models, lacquered cherry woodwork and luxury amenities are applied throughout the interior. Topside, a U-shaped settee surrounds much of the helm deck where a wet bar and a teak sole are standard. A retractable fabric top stores in the arch at the aft end of the cockpit. Additional features include sun pads fore and aft, a hydraulic gangway, bow thruster, a cockpit barbecue, and a well arranged engine room. Twin 800-hp MANs with Arneson surface drives cruise in the mid 30s (about 40 knots top), and 1,050-hp MANs cruise at 40 knots (45+ top).
