A popular model on the West Coast during her production years, the Offshore 48 Sedan is a well-conceived motoryacht with several features of interest to experienced cruisers. While not designed with the mega-volume interior found in some cruising yachts this size, the Offshore does place a priority on outdoor recreation as her generous deck areas suggest. Not only are the walkarounds wide and the cockpit spacious, but the flybridge dimensions are quite generous for a 48-footer. Designed by William Crealock, the 48 is built on a hand-laminated fiberglass hull with balsa coring from the waterline up. Thanks to her substantial displacement, low profile and low center of gravity the 48 offers a comfortable ride and a high degree of directional stability. The salon is appointed with hand crafted teak joinery and trim, and large windows provide panoramic views of the water. The master stateroom with island queen berth is forward and the guest stateroom with over/under berths is amidships to port. There are two heads separated by a shared shower stall. A stairway behind the lower helm provides convenient inside bridge access. Cat 420hp diesels cruise at 16–17 knots (nearly 20 knots top).
