Ocean’s 62 Super Sport was another in the company’s series of competitively priced, high-performance sportfishing yachts. Offered with either a closed or open flybridge, she rides on an updated modified-V hull design with more deadrise than previous Ocean models. The 62 Super Sport looks a lot like the Ocean 60 Super Sport (1996–2001), the boat she replaced in the 2002 Ocean lineup, with the same graceful lines and tapered hull shape. The main deck layout is arranged with the galley and dinette forward, a step up from the salon. (Note that in the Enclosed Bridge version, a spiral staircase just aft of the galley leads up to the bridge.) Buyers can choose from three or four staterooms on the lower level. In the three-stateroom version, a laundry room replaces the starboard guest cabin. The cockpit is equipped with port and starboard rod lockers, a transom livewell, in-deck fish boxes, and a bait center with freezer and sink. The standup engine room, reached from the cockpit, provides good service access to the motors. Twin 1,400hp Cat diesels cruise the 62 Super Sport at a fast 32 knots (about 35 knots top). Optional 1,500hp MTUs will hit 38 knots wide open.
