A very distinctive boat, the Ocean 48 Cockpit Motor Yacht is a cockpit version of the company’s 44 Motor Yacht (1992–99). She rides on the same low-deadrise hull as her sistership, and shares an identical three-stateroom interior made notable for its spacious salon. Most motor yachts in this size range have only two staterooms. The 48, however, has three—each with a double berth—in a very unusual configuration. While the fore and aft staterooms are fairly generic, the starboard guest stateroom is unique in that it extends beneath the main salon dinette. Indeed, this second guest cabin is considerably larger than it appears at first glance, although it does consume some valuable engine room space. The galley is on the deckhouse level in this layout, and both heads are fitted with stall showers. Topside, the full-width aft deck comes with a wet bar and wing doors, and the flybridge is arranged with the helm forward and lounge seating for six. Additional standard features included a cockpit transom door, built-in washer/dryer, bow pulpit, and swim platform. Built on a low-deadrise, modified-V hull, optional 485hp 6-71 diesels cruise at a brisk 23–24 knots.
