The Ocean 37 Billfish is a throwback to the classic, custom-built fishing boats of the 1960s. Her vintage Palm Beach styling belies her modern engineering and construction, however, and the Billfish incorporates the same upscale amenities found in every Ocean Yacht. Unlike flybridge convertibles with their enclosed salons, Ocean designers eliminated the aft cabin bulkhead which allows the skipper to join in the fishing action. This open main deck design makes the Billfish unique in today’s market—she’s currently the only dual-helm flybridge boat produced without a fixed salon bulkhead. The main-deck layout of the Billfish is functional, efficient, and easy to clean. Insulated fish boxes and a bait prep center are standard in the cockpit, and the U-shaped dinette converts when necessary to a double bed. Forward and below, the well-appointed interior is finished with high-gloss cherry joinery and wood-planked flooring. The bridgedeck seating areas lift on electric rams to expose the engines. Yanmar 480hp diesels cruise at 24–26 knots and Volvo 435hp IPS drives cruise at 28–30 knots. A total of 27 were sold. Viking Yachts purchased the molds and production resumed in 2018 as the Viking 37 Billfish.
