A popular model for Ocean in the late ’80s and early ’90s, the 35 Super Sport incorporated the same rakish lines and 30-knot performance of larger Ocean convertibles in a compact and affordable package. She’s built on a modified-V hull with considerable beam forward, cored hullsides, and modest transom deadrise. The Super Sport’s interior (with no forward windshield) is roomy for a 35-footer. The galley is down from the salon, and owners could select a dinette or two-stateroom floorplan. The amount of teak interior joinery is a little scaled back from what it was in other Ocean yachts of her era, but the standard equipment list was impressive and included a generator, air conditioning, and central vacuum system. Outside, the cockpit is fitted with a transom door, molded-in tackle center, side lockers, and teak covering boards. Note that an athwartships bridge ladder over the tackle locker conserves cockpit space. On the downside, the engine room is a very tight fit. Standard 320hp Crusaders cruise the 35 Super Sport at 20–22 knots and reach 30 knots wide open. The optional 300hp Cummins diesels cruise at 24–25 (about 30 knots top).
