The Ocean 29 Super Sport is one of the smallest flybridge boats ever offered by a major builder. (Indeed, it’s possible to count the number of under-30-foot flybridge boats produced in recent years on a single hand.) Built on a beamy modified-V hull, the 29 was designed to serve as a sportfishing boat as well as a family cruiser. The interior of the Ocean 29 is a model of efficiency. The stateroom is equipped with full-size double berth, angled to save space. A unique shower stall is built into the head compartment; the galley includes a microwave and a surprising amount of storage, and the salon comes with a dinette and an L-shaped lounge that converts to upper and lower bunks. A central vacuum system and entertainment center were standard. The cockpit incorporates an in-deck fish box, fresh- and saltwater washdowns, rod holders, and a tackle locker. (Note that the bridge ladder runs athwartships over the starboard engine box to conserve fishing space.) Among several engine options, twin 240hp Crusader gas engines cruise at 22 knots (about 30 knots top). A pair of 350hp gas engines cruise at 25 knots (30+ knots top), and 250hp Cummins diesels cruise in the low to mid 20s.
