With her sturdy profile and prominent bowthe bow pulpit rides nearly 9 feet above the waterlinethe Nordic 54 Tug is an imposing yacht up close. Introduced in 2004 (and called the Nordic 52 until 2009) this is Nordics largest yacht to date. Built on a semi-displacement hull with a deep, prop-protecting keel, she was originally designed for twin engines; three were built before Nordic engineers redesigned the hull for single-screw power which then became standard. A spacious, teak-trimmed salon with leather settee, removable dinette table and flat-screen TV highlights the interior of the 54 Tug. A large galley with dishwasher and under-counter refrigeration is forward of the salon. The 54s raised pilothouse resembles that of a small ship with a state-of-the-art helm, U-shaped dinette, and watertight deck doors. On the lower level buyers can choose from a two-stateroom floorplan with an amidships master, or a three-stateroom layout with the master suite forward. Additional features include a washer/dryer, cockpit storage lazarette, an enormous engine room, and wide, well-secured side decks. A flybridge is a popular option. Cruise at 910 knots with a single 670hp Cummins engine (about 15 knots top).
