According to the Nordhavn website, the N72 was developed in response to customer demand for a larger boat than the Nordhavn 62. Built at the Ta Shing yard in Taiwan, the N72 took the Nordhavn brand to the next level in terms of boat building excellence. The N72 is available in several configurations—a buyer is able to choose from a bulbous bow or conventional bow, and the boat can be ordered with single or twin engines. The main salon access is from the double doors on the aft deck or from the galley forward. The N72 has what Nordhavn calls a “wide body” layout with only a single side deck on the starboard side. The luxurious accommodations include a full-beam master beneath the pilothouse, a guest stateroom just off the companionway leading up to the pilothouse, and two large guest staterooms in the bow, each with a private head and shower. The crew quarters are on the lower deck beneath the galley, just forward of the engine room bulkhead. The pilothouse features two Stidd helm chairs, an L-shaped settee with table, and a day head in the aft starboard corner. With her proven full-displacement hull and generous tankage, the N72 is more than up to an ocean-crossing voyage.
