A popular model, the Nordhavn 46 is a distinctive pilothouse trawler with a ballasted, full-displacement hull and the sturdy profile of a North Sea workboat. The attention to detail found throughout this top-tier yacht is simply exceptional. Two interiors were offered in the Nordhavn 46. The original layout (Plan A) has the owners stateroom amidships, and Plan Bfound in most later modelshas the master stateroom forward. In Plan A, the forward stateroom is reached separately from the pilothouse; with Plan B, both staterooms accessed from the salon. A U-shaped galley with Sub-Zero refrigeration is forward to port in the salon. The pilothouse, four steps up from the salon, includes a watch berth and port/starboard deck doors. From the cockpit, the asymmetrical salon is offset to port leaving a single, starboard-side walkway from the cockpit to the bow through the Portuguese bridge. A total of 82 Nordhavn 46 trawlers were built, nine with a flybridge. (The last 16 hulls had fiberglass fuel tanks rather than steel.) According to the company, no other production boat has had as many ocean crossings as the Nordhavn 46. A Lugger 143hp diesel will cruise at 8 knots with a range of 1,8002,000 miles.
