A popular boat, the McKinna 57 is a raised pilothouse yacht whose combination of distinctive styling, roomy accommodations, and affordable price set her apart from many competitive motoryachts of her era. Built in Taiwan by Lien Hwa Shipyards, the McKinna 57 rides on a semi-displacement hull with a moderate beam, shallow keel, and a solid fiberglass bottom. Several two- and three-stateroom floorplans were available in the 57 with a choice of maple, teak, or light oak interior joinery. Most were delivered with the galley forward in the spacious, full-beam salon. The raised pilothouse boasts an L-shaped dinette, watertight deck door, and direct flybridge access. Cockpit features include a teak sole, combined grill and wet bar, dual transom doors, and an access hatch to the engine room. Note that to preserve space, the cockpit does not have a flybridge ladder or steps. Topside, the flybridge has a large settee, wet bar, and sun pads. Additional features include Corian galley counters, companionway washer/dryer cabinet, bow thruster, and extended swim platform. A heavily built yacht, optional MAN 600hp (or Cummins 640hp) diesels cruise the McKinna 57 at 20 knots.
