Largest boat in the Maxum fleet when she was introduced in 1994, the 3200 SCR is a generic sterndrive cruiser with functional deck and cabin layouts and an impressive list of standard features. Notably, she was among the least expensive boats in her class during the late 1990s. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and the Maxum’s 11-foot beam—together with the lack of any side decks—results in an unusually spacious interior for a 32-footer. The midcabin layout is arranged in the usual manner with double berths fore and aft, a convertible dinette, complete galley, and a standup head with sink and shower. A curtain forward and a folding door aft separate the sleeping areas from the salon, and headroom is excellent, even in the small aft cabin. On deck, the cockpit is arranged with facing settees aft and a double-wide seat at the helm (which folds out into a lounge). A windshield walk-through provides access to the foredeck sun pad and bow platform. Note that there’s little space around the console for extra electronics. Among several sterndrive engine options, twin 250hp MerCruisers cruise the Maxum 3200 SCR at 20 knots and reach a top speed of 30+ knots.
