The Mainship 35 Open (called the Mainship 36 Express in 199293) is an unimpressive express cruiser whose early 1990s styling is completely dated by todays sportboat standards. Theres really not much to recommend this boatthe finish is poor, the interior trim and wall coverings are obviously inexpensive, and the faux-European exterior styling leaves much to be desired. What the 35/36 does have, however, is a big cockpit with acres of lounge seating and a wide sun lounge. (Note that the portside helm position is a little unusualmost helms are to starboard.) Below deck, the midcabin floorplanupgraded in 1992is arranged with double berths in both staterooms, full-service galley, and a separate stall shower in the head. The lack of interior bulkheads adds to the impression of space inside the 36, but with only curtains to separate the staterooms from the salon, nighttime privacy is practically nonexistent. A hatch in the cockpit sole provides good access to the engines and V-drives. Additional features include a radar arch, cockpit wet bar, and an integrated swim platform. Twin Crusader 350hp gas engines cruise the Mainship 35 Open/36 Express at 18 knots (2728 knots top).
