With her deep cockpit and distinctive Downeast profile, the Alura 30 is a versatile, full-keel fishing boat suitable for diving, day-tripping or weekend cruising. The cockpit measures a spacious 110 square feet in size, and the scooped area at the transom allows for easy access to the water. With her high freeboard and good nonskid, the Alura’s cockpit is a secure place for passengers. A pair of adjustable chairs are forward, and molded-in fish boxes and a baitwell were standard. Helm visibility is very good, and the windshield can be opened for ventilation—a real plus in hot weather. The wide side decks are notable. With 6'4"" of headroom, the interior of the Alura 30 is easily capable of comfortable living and cruising. There are berths for four (including two swing-up bunks), an enclosed head with shower, and a full galley with sink, pressure hot and cold water, alcohol stove and icebox. Additional features include an anchor locker, four opening ports, and a swim platform. Note that the keel was redesigned in 1988 to reduce vibration problems. A single 270hp gas inboard provides a cruising speed of 14–15 knots and a top speed just over 20 knots.
