The affordably priced Larson 300 Cabrio (called the 310 Cabrio in 1995–98) was the largest model in the Larson fleet for much of the 1990s. Basically, the Cabrio is a redesign of an earlier Larson model—the Contempra DC-300 (1988–90)—with a streamlined profile and an upgraded cabin layout. Built on a stable DeltaConic hull with a relatively wide beam, the original midcabin interior of the Cabrio has a large island berth area in the bow, two hanging lockers, a double berth aft, and a convertible dinette that might sleep a single (small) adult. In 1994, an all-new floorplan with an angled berth forward opened up the salon considerably, allowing space for a full-size dinette and a slightly enlarged galley. On deck, the Cabrio’s cockpit is arranged with a double-wide (reversible) helm seat, a covered wet bar (very slick), and a gas-assist engine access hatch in the sole. A bow pulpit, windshield vents, and a cockpit shower were standard. Among several engine options, twin 205hp 5.0-liter MerCruiser sterndrives cruise the Larson 300/310 Cabrio at about 20 knots (about 30+ knots top), and a pair of 235hp MerCruisers will deliver a top speed in the high 30s.
