The top-selling yacht in her class during her production years (over 50 were built), the Hatteras 70 Cockpit Motor Yacht remains among the most sought-after used cockpit yachts on the market. In most respects, shes best described as a Hatteras 65 Motor Yacht with a 5-foot cockpit extension. With a wide 18'2"" beam, the Hatteras 70 is a very spacious yacht. The top deck boasts a huge full-beam salon, home size galley and dinette, and an enclosed pilothouse with deck doors and flybridge access stairs. Originally offered with a corridor separating walk-in engine rooms, in 1989 Hatteras engineers redesigned the layout to include a full-beam engine room separating the master suite from the guest staterooms forward. The master stateroom, accessed from a salon stairway beginning in 1989, features a centerline king bed, walk-in closet, and ensuite head with whirlpool tub and shower. Forward of the engine room, with access stairs from the pilothouse, are three staterooms, each with a private head and shower. The cockpit has lazarette storage and a transom door. Detroit 870hp 12V71 engines cruise at 1617 knots. Larger 1,075hp 12V92 diesels cruise at nearly 20 knots.
