Built in Mainland China, the Hampton 490 was the first of a series of semi-custom motoryachts marketed in the U.S. by Hampton Yachts. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and the 490’s classic raised pilothouse lines conceal a spacious interior designed for extended offshore cruising. The standard layout includes two staterooms where the guest stateroom is forward with walkaround berth and the master suite is amidships with the head of the bed up against the hull on the port side. Access to the staterooms is via a spiral staircase from the pilothouse on the starboard side. The pilothouse contains a hi-lo table and deck access doors port and starboard. Aft and down three steps from the pilothouse, the 490’s full-beam salon has the galley forward to port with cherrywood flooring and bartop with Corian counter. The cockpit contains a transom door, lazarette storage, engine room access, and molded flybridge steps. Additional features include high-gloss cherry interior woodwork, salon entertainment system, underwater exhausts, and swim platform. Cruise at 17–18 knots (20+ top) with 450hp Cummins diesels.
