The Grand Banks 49 Motor Yacht is distinguished from the original 49 Classic by her raised aft deck platform (the Classic has full walkaround decks and a small cockpit) which gives her a roomy full-width entertainment platform just a few steps down from the bridge. Like the rest of the Grand Banks fleet, shes constructed on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull with hard chines, a deep forefoot and a long, prop-protecting keel. The interior layoutthe same as the 49 Classic but with a larger master stateroomincludes three staterooms with three heads, a standup engine room, a luxurious master suite, and a spacious main salon with deckhouse galley and lower helm. An optional two-stateroom arrangement has the galley down and an enlarged salon. Notable features include a fold-down mast and boom assembly, teak decks, a very spacious flybridge, a well-arranged engine room, and wide side decks with high protective bulwarks. Solid construction, superb engineering and meticulous attention to detail made the 49 a very popular yacht. Twin 375hp Cats cruise at a steady 1314 knots, and twin 435hp Cats cruise at 1415 knots.
