Successor to the Grand Banks 41 Heritage EU (2009–12), the Grand Banks 43 Heritage EU has a larger cockpit than her predecessor as well as a second head and bigger master stateroom. While she looks like a traditional low-speed trawler on the outside, the modified-V hull of the 43EU can cruise all day at 20 knots. (Note that the keel is deep enough to help protect the pod drives and props.) One of the great features of a sedan-style trawler like the Heritage EU is the ability open wide the aft doors and create a vast indoor/outdoor entertaining area from the cockpit forward to the lower helm. The paneled teak interior of the 43EU has an L-shaped settee and fixed table to port in the salon with the galley forward, also to port. A hatch in the salon floor opens to a workshop, laundry or storage area below deck. A companionway leads to the lower deck where the master stateroom is forward with a walkaround queen bed and private head and shower. The portside guest stateroom has twin beds and private access to the day head. The after section of the bridge deck has room for a davit. Cummins 480hp QSB6.7 diesels mated to Zeus pod drives cruise at 18–20 knots (low 20s top).
