Introduced in 2002, the Grady-White 283 Release (called the 283 Canyon beginning in 2010) is a top-tier center console whose muscular lines and quality construction anglers expect in a Grady-White product. Shes built on a deep-V hull with generous freeboard and a wide 9'6"" beam. In addition to a roomy deck layout, the 283 has one of the larger console head compartments found in a boat this size. Standard features include an integrated swim platform, recessed bow rails, leaning post with flip-up bolster, cushioned bow seating with insulated fish boxes under, anchor locker, tilt steering, tackle drawers, transom door, foldaway rear seat, cockpit bolsters, lockable rod storage, transom fish box, trim tabs, and a deluxe rigging station with a sink, tackle trays, and 45-gallon livewell built into the back of the leaning post. Note the electrically operated pop-up electronics enclosure at the helm. Popular options include a factory T-top with radio box, bow pulpit, and removable bow table. A heavily built boat, the 283 Canyon tops out in the neighborhood of 45 knots with Yamaha 250s.
