Based on the original Grady-White 271 Canyon (201217), the 271 Canyon FS (forward seating) is a top-tier family fisherman in the Grady-White tradition. Boasting high forward freeboard, generous beam and a level deck, the bow seating of the 271 FS features forward-facing backrests that fold flush when not in usevery clever. A cooler is located beneath the forward console seat, and the 271s full-height wraparound windshield is integrated into the fiberglass T-top to create a protective enclosure. The console head compartment with electric toilet seems large for a boat this size. The seat/leaning bar comes with split flip-up bolsters as well as backrest and a footrest. A bait prep station, tackle drawers (lockable), and 42-gallon livewell are built into the back of the leaning post unit. A second 35-gallon lighted well and fish box are built into the transom behind the foldaway bench seat. Additional features include port and starboard forward fish boxes, rod holders (6), recessed bow rails, and wraparound bolsters. A bow thruster is optional. Rigged with twin Yamaha F300 outboards, the 271 Canyon FS can reach a top speed in excess of 45 knots.
