At nearly 28 feet in length, the 280 Horizon is the largest bowrider Four Winns has ever built. Big bowriders have become increasingly popular in recent years, and the Horizon, with her wide 9-foot, 4-inch beam, is bigger than most. Built on a modified-V hull, the 280 has the size and weight to handle an ocean chop while still offering the stability so important in any family runabout. Key to the popularity of this boat is her large cockpit with its wraparound seating to starboard and refreshment center (with standard refrigerator, sink, and trash bin) to port. A side settee is opposite the helm, where a flip-up double seat provides plenty of legroom for standup driving. A stylish burlwood dash displays a complete set of Faria gauges as well as a depth finder, however, theres little space for any extra electronics. An enclosed head compartment is built into the portside console, while the starboard console contains a large storage locker. Note that the 280s engine compartment is a tight fit. Additional features include a power engine hatch, transom shower, tilt steering wheel, and an extended secondary swim platform. A fast ride with twin 315hp Volvo I/Os, the Horizon will hit a top speed of around 50 knots.
