Building on the success of the Fleming 55, Fleming Yachts introduced the Fleming 75 in the year 2000. Ten years later the Fleming 75 was redesigned with a longer hull, longer keel and bulbous bow to become the new Fleming 78. The added waterline length and bulbous bow reduce fuel consumption and increase range by 500 nautical miles. She has three staterooms, all ensuite, with a separate crew quarters aft. Standard features include Aquadrive vibration isolation systems, twin 32kw generators, centralized hydraulic system driving American Bow thruster stabilizers, bow thruster and twin Maxwell windlasses. A custom central monitoring system with three 15"" color touchscreens displays all onboard systems, including tank levels, bilge & fire alarms as well as a fully controllable CCTV system.” The full-length keel is filled with closed-cell foam and sealed off from the hull to protect against water intrusion. Standard power for the Fleming 78 is MAN V12 1550hp engines. MAN V8 1000hp and 1200hp engines are optional. With a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, the Fleming 75 can achieve speeds in excess of 20 knots. (Much of the above text was taken from the Fleming website.)
