One of the early Ferretti models imported into the U.S. market during the mid-1990s, the Ferretti 55 MY (previously called the Ferretti 165) was a state-of-the-art, high-performance Italian yacht that offered American buyers something different in contemporary motor yacht design. Her hull is a medium-deadrise deep-V with moderate beam, and the huge swim platformdesigned to stow a jet ski inside and a dinghy on topis an integral part of the hull. The Ferrettis lush three-stateroom interior follows the trend seen in many European flybridge cruisers with a sunken galley between the salon aft and the elevated helm position forward. Both guest staterooms are fitted with twin berths, and the master stateroom (forward) has a walkaround queen bed. Note that a single-berth crew cabin with its own head and shower is reached from the galley. Rich mahogany woodwork, quality furnishings, and crushed leather upholstery complete the stylish interior. Additional features include a spacious flybridge with wet bar and sun lounge, laundry center, underwater exhausts, and cockpit access to the engine room. Twin 770hp V-drive MTUs cruise the Ferretti 55 at a fast 26 knots and reach a top speed of around 30 knots.
