The Fairline 74 Squadron—once the largest yacht in the Fairline fleet—is an impressive blend of luxury, beauty, and performance. With her continental styling and lush interior, the Squadron can accommodate as many as ten in her standard four-stateroom, three-head layout. The formal dining area, to starboard just forward of the main salon, has seating for a dinner party of eight. The huge galley, opposite the dinette, is equipped with top-of-line appliances (including a conventional oven and grill), while the salon is arranged with a sectional sofa to port and a stunning wall-mounted bar unit to starboard. On the downside, narrow cabin windows make the interior seem a bit small for a 74-footer. A sliding steel-and-glass door opens to a spacious teak cockpit large enough to entertain a small crowd. A tender garage and small crew cabin are under the cockpit floor where a corridor leads on to the standup engine room. Topside, the massive teak flybridge includes a grill, refrigerator and sun lounge as well as a hydraulic PWC hoist. Typical of all Fairline yachts, the joinery and detailing are exemplary. A good performer for such a big boat, MAN 1,550hp engines cruise in the high 20s (30+ knots top).
