The Fairline 65 Squadron made her debut in 1991 as a 62-footer becoming a 65-footer in 1995 with the addition of an extended swim platform. In 1998, the exterior styling got a facelift (pictured here) and a slightly revised main-deck layout. A handsome yacht in her day with a striking profile, the Squadron rides on a solid fiberglass hull with propeller tunnels and a moderate 17'4"" beam. The cherrywood interior of the 65 Squadron has the cooking and dining areas forward, on the pilothouse level, and the socializing area aft. The galley—aft of the lower helm—is enclosed and includes a deck access door. Four staterooms are on the lower level including an opulent full-width amidships master and forward VIP with island double bed. The Captain’s cabin with upper/lower berths and head is aft, accessed from a cockpit hatch. Crew quarters are forward, accessed from a foredeck hatch. The Squadron gives up some salon space in favor of her wide side decks and a large aft deck area. The swim platform will stow an inflatable or jet ski, and the flybridge—accessed from the salon or aft deck—has a wet bar, lounge, and triple helm seat. MAN 1100hp diesels cruise at 24–26 knots. Cat 3412 1400hp engines cruise in the high 20s.
