No ordinary express, the Fairline 47 Targa combines the spirited performance one expects in a purebred European sport cruiser with the lush amenities of a small motoryacht. Targas have long been known for their powerful lines and luxuriously equipped living areas, and the 47 Targa—introduced in 2005—took these attributes to the next level. Built on a deep-V with prop pockets and a slender 13'2"" beam, the Targa’s dramatic styling is coupled with a surprisingly spacious cockpit with retractable roof. In its open form, with the canvas roof retracted, there is a true sense of freedom that continues out onto the cockpit with its large sun pad. Below, the twin-cabin, twin-head interior of the 47 Targa features a comfortable main salon with a U-shaped leather settee and large galley with full-size refrigerator. The master stateroom is forward, and twin berths in aft cabin convert to double berth. Avonite counters are found in the galley and head. On the downside, cabin headroom is barely 6 feet throughout. A large stern platform has integrated garage for a tender. Good engine room access, from the port side of the transom, is a plus. A bow thruster is standard. Cruise at 30 knots with Volvo 575hp diesels (35 knots top).
