One of the largest center consoles available when she was introduced in 2008, the Edgewater 388 is a top-tier center console equally at home as a feature-rich family cruiser or capable fishing platform. The 388’s hull—originally designed by well-known naval architect Michael Peters for the Sterling 38 Center Console—is the first stepped-hull design ever for an Edgewater boat. The 388 is an extremely well-finished boat and her wide beam provides plenty of space for anglers and guests. There are two in-deck fish boxes with pumpouts aft, and a sink and 70-gallon recirculating livewell are built into the transom. The Edgewater’s roomy walk-in console includes a marine toilet, sink and storage. Adjustable flip-up helm seats, tackle storage box, backrest with rod holders, and a cutting board with storage are built into the two-man leaning post. A folding removable stern seat, forward console seat, and U-shaped bow seats are standard. Because the Edgewater 388 is a semi-custom boat, no two are set up exactly alike. Twin Yamaha F350s reach a top speed in the mid 40-knot range, and triple Yamaha F250s top out at close to 55 knots. Triple F300s reach 60+ knots top.
