The DeFever 47 POC Motor Yacht (the POC stands for Performance Offshore Cruiser) is a heavily built cruising yacht from the Sen Koh yard in Taiwan. Introduced in 1986, the 47 rides on a fully cored semi-displacement hull with a wide 16-foot beam, hard aft chines, and a long keel deep enough to protect the running gear. Like many DeFever interiors, the layout of the 47 POC is arranged with the galley aft in the salon where its easily accessed from the aft deck and flybridge. A center lower helm is standard, and a sliding door to port provides easy deck access from the salon. The aft deck is fully enclosed, paneled, and air conditioned turning this area into a vast second salon. There are two guest staterooms, one forward of the salon and the secondeasily configured as an officeaft of the salon. The full-beam master has a walkaround queen bed, desk/vanity, and ensuite head. An alternate (but rare) galley-down interior was optional. Topside, the flybridge has the helm forward and facing settees aft. Wide side decks make getting around the DeFever easy and safe, and the hardtop is designed to support the weight of a dinghy. About a dozen of these yachts were built. Cat 375hp cruise at 1214 knots.
