Introduced in 1990 as the 2870 Holiday, called the 2870 Rogue in 1991–94, and ending production in 1995 at the 2970 Rogue, this generic midcabin cruiser was a relatively popular model for Cruisers thanks to her comfortable layout and an affordable price. Like most boats of her type, the Rogue rides on a conventional modified-V hull with moderate beam and solid fiberglass construction. The floorplan is arranged with a convertible dinette/double berth forward, a configuration that leaves room for a larger galley than a boat this size might otherwise contain. Privacy curtains separate the sleeping areas from the main cabin, and sliding cabin windows and two overhead hatches provide ventilation. Topside, the cockpit can seat eight and includes a wet bar and a fold-down jump seat hidden in the back of the dual helm seat. There’s a sun pad for the foredeck, but getting there is difficult since there are practically no side decks to speak of. A radar arch was a popular option, and a transom door and bow pulpit were standard. Among several engine options, twin 245hp Volvo sterndrives will provide a cruising speed of 24 knots and a top speed of 36 knots.
